This is a great version for cassettes. With the exception of the oddly placed bonus track, this release is a major improvement over the Nostradamus/Dutch East version from the 1980's. The jacket is made of a much better and thicker paper and folds out to show the credits, song lyrics and some photos of the band. The earlier release just has the lyrics to the songs and some basic information. This release does it all and is very loyal to the booklet that came with the first LP.

Those looking for a traditional experience of Ashes on cassette should check out the earlier release while those looking for a quality issue on cassette should stick with this one. Had it not been for the extra track, this would be a perfect re-issue of the album for the cassette format.

Vinyl LP pressing. In 1985, Christian Death extended it's shadow over the nascent gothic genre with the release of it's third album Ashes.
Continuing where the epic Catastrophe Bullet left off, Ashes furthered the band's burgeoning legacy with it's keen sense of romance and dramatic flair. The disturbingly dark and deeply atmospheric songwriting of the two main protagonists, Williams and Kand, remains to this day some of the bands most elegant and incisive. Williams unquestionably delivers some of the finest vocal performances of his all-too-short career. Vinyl LP pressing.
